On July 6, 슬롯 머신 게임 Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) held a ceremony at the Lotte Hotel Seoul to present the 2018 슬롯 머신 게임 Yonkang Academic Award for best medical paper. The winner of this year’s award was Joo Myung Lee, professor of cardiology at Samsung Medical Center, who received 30 million won (about $27,000) and a plaque. The paper that won Lee the award was, “Clinical implications of three-vessel fractional flow reserve measurement in patients with coronary artery disease,” which was published in the European Heart Journal, an SCI* journal of cardiology published by the European Society of Cardiology, in March 2018. The study re-interpreted the clinical meaning of fractional flow reserve, a model for the estimation of impaired blood flow across a coronary artery stenosis.
